James Logan students age 16 and up, donate blood at our semi-annual fall American Red Cross blood drive event on October 4th. There will be a table in Colt Court during both lunches all week for sign-ups and information. If you donate blood you will receive a free t-shirt and would save three lives!
More colleges and universities are visiting Logan’s campus than ever before. The latest to join the list is Cal Poly – SLO. For a complete listing of which colleges are coming and when, check the Logan website under college & career info. Then stop by the Career Center to sign up. But don’t wait too long as space is limited and open spots fill up quickly.
Yearbooks are on sale now. The cost of the yearbook is $65 through September 30th. The price then goes up to $70. Payment plans are available. They will be sold at the office windows at lunch. Reserve your copy today. See Ms. Walton for more details.
PSAT and PACT tickets will be sold at both lunches, Sept. 26 – Sept. 30 at the Admin Office windows. Tickets cost $25.
Congratulations to Jasmine Zaldivar and Amber Kerawala for swimming from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge on Sunday. Good job, Girls! Great accomplishment!
Congratulations to Abraham Espinoza who won the 10K run at the Breast Cancer run at Quarry Lakes on Saturday. Kelli VanMoer was the 5K winner!
The Cross Country team members are selling discount cards. Look for a person wearing a Cross Country shirt and help them out.
ACTIVITIES
Community Service: 3 New opportunities are the Fremont Hub Ghost House, babysitting for elementary age children during Eastin’s October PTC meeting, and docents for tour guides at the McConaghy House in Hayward. For these and other opportunities, stop by the Career Center, or check them out on Logan’s website.
CLUBS
Leo Club will be having their first meeting Thursday, September 29th in Room 72 after school. New members encouraged.
Badminton Club will be meeting this Thursday, September 29th, in Room 406 at 3:30.
Do you like spoken word poetry? Then come check out SLAM Club! Our first meeting is Thursday after school in Room 301. See you there!
FYA is meeting today after in Room 414. Bring a filling or milk for our Halo Halo party. We’ll also have elections.
The Gay-Straight Alliance meets Friday in Room 521.
Come to Muslim Student Association, MSA, to learn more about Islam, in Room 453 Thursdays after school. There will be refreshments.
