The latest upcoming band is making its way to even more success than ever: All Star Weekend’s popular single “Not Your Birthday” will be featured in the upcoming movie “Prom”. The song is about giving people who are feeling down something brighter to think about—to party like it’s "not your birthday."
The video of this single has a gymnasium dance kick to it with a school setting. Their single is used for the day of the prom.
All of the singles of this upcoming band have something for everyone to listen and easily relate to. Their purpose is to have people connect with their music and make situations better for themselves if in a bad mood.
All Star Weekend’s mission statement is to “have fun” and they do that at every concert they do. Their fan favorite song is “Catching Up” which is mainly a wake up call for people who are still lost and don’t know what to do, it is a reminder for them to step out of their shell—to go out, take risks and do what they are passionate about.
The members started this band while in high school and were recognized by Radio Disney. They participated in a competition and even though they lost, they were offered many record deals. The band eventually signed with Hollywood Records and states that their biggest influence is Blink-182.
One of their album covers for “Not Your Birthday” has an upside down candle, which supports the lyrics in the song. For it to be someone’s birthday, the candle is always the right side up, and to have the opposite meaning of that, the candle must be faced down in order to indirectly mean “Not Your Birthday.”
It’s a big accomplishment for this band to make it this far and have so many fans. They say that they hope to have more support from their fans and hope to be one of the top bands in America.
