Teresa Jong has just broke the community service record with a total of 2,011-1/2 hours. You ask where she got those hours from. Teresa helped out everywhere and everyone from Mr. Lindsey and the Forensics tournaments, to Coach Webb’s track team, Special Olympics, Car Wash fund raisers, game booths at a children’s carnival, and snack bar duty at football games. But Teresa didn’t just volunteer for fun and games, she also has a more serious and caring side that showed her the not so pretty aspects of life. Like delivering food to families who couldn’t afford a Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner, or people in foreign countries in need of eyeglasses, and walking for Aids patients. Teresa has done all this and yet still found time to mentor and show incoming freshmen what it means to be part of the Logan family! Thank you, Teresa, for your giving spirit and reminding all of us that “yes we do have time to make a difference,” even if it’s only an hour here and an hour there. Add them all together and they amount to over 2,011 hours in 4 years!
