She took the winding back stairs, following the stream of people heading in the same direction, when out of the corner of her eye she saw the barest flicker and knew. It was him. She didn't have to look to know he was among the crowd of students walking the opposite way. She could always sense him, as if her nerves were fine-tuned antennae receptors that picked up whenever he was near. Maybe it was the vampire in her, giving her the ability to tell when another was close by, or maybe it had nothing to do with her otherworldly powers at all. Jack.
His eyes were focused straight ahead, as if he never even saw her, never registered her presence. His sleek blond hair, the same translucent shade as his sister's, was slicked back from his proud forehead; and unlike the other boys around him, dressed in varying degrees of sloppiness, he looked regal in a blazer and tie. He was so handsome it was hard for Schuyler to breathe. But just as at the town house Schuyler refused to call it home Jack ignored her.
The Blue Bloods series, of which Revelations is the third installment, is a vampire novel series by Melissa de la Cruz that takes place in Manhattan, New York. The series currently includes four books, but a new book in the series is due in 2011.
In Revelations, Schuyler is now living in the Forces house since Charles won the custody battle over her in a previous installment. She absolutely hates it there and wishes nothing more than to go home. Now that she's in the Forces house she has to abide by their rules, which include not seeing her best friend/conduct Oliver anymore.
But just because Charles tells her not to see Oliver doesn't mean she'll listen to him. When she's at school, she ignores him and hangs out with her new best friend, Bliss. At nights Schuyler and Oliver meet up at a special hiding spot so they won't be found. The only other person who knows their secret is Bliss.
One night, who else but Dylan shows up in Bliss's room. He tells her that he knows who the Silver Blood, a vampire who preys on other vampires, is among them. To Bliss's surprise, Dylan tells her it is Schuyler. After telling her this, he goes after Schuyler who is in the hiding spot waiting for Oliver. Bliss saves them from starting a true battle between the two.
When they all sit down, Schuyler proves that she is innocent by showing Dylan the mark of the fallen angel on her arm. This proves that she is pure of heart and is not a Silver Blood.
Meanwhile Mimi and Jack have decided to get bonded and Mimi is preparing for that. Jack on the other hand is not as excited and keeps running out with "friends" at night. One day, Mimi decides to follow him and see what he's really up to. She's surprised to find him sneaking into a building by himself and moments later she sees Schuyler sneaking in as well. This really ticks Mimi off, but she knows Jack's and Schuylar's relationship would be temporary because, when she and Jack are bonded, he won't see anyone else but her.
This book will keep you hooked. You'll want to finish this series in one sitting. More information is being revealed to you as keep on this journey with Schuyler and the rest of the Blue Blood gang.
