On Friday the 13th, Logan held its semi-annual Spirit Rally after school. The 30-minute event had the student body cheering for their grade in every chance they had.

The rally had performances by the cheerleaders, both junior varsity and varsity, and dance groups. Afterward, the Homecoming Royalty Court was announced.

For freshmen princess, it was Marian Parazo escorted by Prince RJ Start. Sophomore princess was Guadalupe Zamora escorted by Prince Carlos Santana. Junior princess was Kyle Manalang escorted by Prince Matt Haney. Senior princess was Darienne Macatiag escorted by Prince Alex Fuentez-Cardenas. Homecoming queen was Jesa Sales escorted by King Ambrose Cruz. Senior Alex Fuentez-Cardenas said, “Winning is a privilege. There were a lot of people that ran for nominations and to be one of the finalists then to win, it’s great.”

This year, students might have noticed that along with the students, teachers were also announced to have won king and queen. The first of Logan’s king was Anthony Pava along with Rita Pilapil for queen.

After the announcement, the members of the court and several other students in each grade and selected teachers played different games for spirit points.

Unlike all previous spirit rallies, the seniors this year did not win all the games. Sophomores won the first round of a race. Then, teachers won the game with the parachute.

After the fun and games, it was time to reveal the class floats.

The freshmen class float’s theme was Friday, the 13th. Their float, it seemed, was based on a crime scene.

The sophomore class float was based on a video game world. It was called Super Smash Sophomores. Their float featured video game characters like Kirby and Luigi.

Juniors’ class float was called Apollo 11, where they represented the first time humans landed on the moon.

Seniors’ class float was called Sen10rs SparTENs. The float had a Greek building with the numeral number X, representing their graduating class. On both side of the building were two Spartans ready to fight. The entire float was decorated with mainly gold and white materials.
