So much for making a statement.

The James Logan varsity football team went to Foothill High School in Pleasanton and expected to come out with a victory. We soon realized that was not going to be an easy task. On our first possession we were forced to punt. This set the tone for our whole game. Our offense had a very difficult time moving the ball and putting points on the board.
On the other hand, Foothill's offense was prolific in the first half, especially their passing game. The Oregon State-bound QB Sean Mannion picked our defense apart. On their first drive, we gave up a touchdown and the score was quickly 7-0.

On their second possession, our defense forced a turnover and our offense scored. The score was 7-6 after a missed extra point. That would be the closest this game would get. Our pass defense gave up 2 more big plays that put us down 21-6 at half.

We made some adjustments at the half, but they weren't enough. On the first play of the second half they scored on another long touchdown pass. Even though the game appeared to be out of reach at this point, we persevered and never gave up. They only scored one more touchdown the rest of the game.

Our defense and offense both scored another touchdown each and the game ended with a final score of 35-20.

This was our chance to help us with our seeding if we make playoffs, but we missed this opportunity. The Colts have now won once by default, and lost the two games actually played thus far.

Luckily for us, we play a very good Deer Valley team that can put us right back into the playoff picture. They are a very athletic team and it will be difficult to win on the road but we will prepare and practice hard this week.
