ACTIVITIES
Any young man interested in playing basketball for the 2009-2010 school year, please see Coach Fortenberry in Room 121 or the Pavilion after school.

Anyone interested in playing boys soccer should see Coach Sills in Room 73 and attend open field after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

All girls wanting to tryout for the Girls’ Tennis Team please come out to the Tennis Courts after school.





If you are interested in learning Mexican folk dance, come to the orientation meeting for the Ballet Folklorico today at 3:45 in the Pavilion Dance Studio. For more information, see Mr. Huertas in the Counseling Office.

CLUBS
There is an important Close Up meeting on Thursday, September 10, 2009 after school to discuss this year’s trip to Washington DC. New members are welcome. Come to Room 71 or see Ms. Lombardi for more details.

If you are interested in starting up the Filipino Youth Association, please come see Ms. Carrasco. We will have our meeting on today after school in Room 414.

MISCELLANEOUS

Seniors, do you want your Senior Portrait in the yearbook? If so, you must have your photo taken at Prestige by Friday, October 2, 2009. Students photographed after that date will NOT be in the yearbook.

DeVry University is offering two free SAT prep Saturday classes. For dates and times, pick up a flyer in the Career Center.

All off-ground Fremont ROP students must see Mrs. Hart in the Career Center to obtain their ROP off-grounds pass. No students will be allowed to leave Logan without valid off-grounds permission.

Community Service Forms are now in the Career Center. We are once again fully stocked. Remember to pick up the Red Community Service handbook with tons of volunteer opportunities listed on page 11 and 12.

Lifetouch will be on campus on Thursday, September 10 from 8:00 – 1:30 in the P.E. Classroom. They will be taking make-up photos for students and faculty. Students will receive passes in one of their morning classes. Students who do not receive a pass but, need an ID should drop into the P.E. Classroom at lunchtime.

Looking for some FUN Community Service hours? Volunteer at the Union City 50th Anniversary fun run and walk. For more information, pick up a flyer in the Career Center. Also in need of volunteers is the First Annual Mutt and Strut sponsored by the New Haven Schools Foundation. This is a fun walk or run together with your pooch. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including the BBQ and dog games. Pick up a flyer in the Career Center.

Yearbooks are on sale for $80! They can be purchased in Room 44 after school. Buy yours now before prices go up.

Job Alert: School Year Work Permits now available in the Career Center’s Colt Necessities Store and the Administration Office. Until you turn 18 years old a Work Permit is required year round.
