James Logan's boys volleyball team beat Washington High School in the first round of MVAL playoffs Tuesday.

With James Logan High seeded second in the playoffs, they took on the third seeded Washington High at Mission San Jose High School in the first round of MVAL playoffs. The boys started off with the first two games close, but they pulled together and raised the intensity of their play to crush Washington in the final two games (25-23, 20-25, 25-10, 25-18). The statistic's of the teams leaders were Aniq Masood with 16 kills, Lutful Asifi with 12 kills and 11 digs, Henry Lam with 14 digs and 2 aces, and finally Minh Ngo with 43 assists.
With the win, the boys will face Mission San Jose, the number one seeded team in league, at Mission San Jose. The game will take place Thursday, May 7th at 6:00pm. With the Logan boy's having faced Mission San Jose twice this year without a win, optimism is still high amongst the team. Captain Aniq Masood said, "I think we have a chance of winning against them. We played phenomenal today, and we will carry that momentum into Thursday's match. We just can't make the mistake of relaxing just because we won tonight, we have to play with the same urgency and the same passion. If we do, it will be a great match to watch on Thursday."

With a win in the Final's, Logan will get an automatic bid into NCS tournament play. However, even with a loss, the team can plead their case for an at-large berth at the NCS seeding meeting. The game takes place on Thursday, May 7th, in the gym at Mission San Jose. Admission is $3.00 for students and $6.00 for adults. The game starts at 6:00pm. Come out on Thursday to support your Colts.
