Shoes collected as part of a shoe drive begun early last month at James Logan High School to help the hurting children in Africa are about ready to be shipped.
This event is sponsored by Soles 4 Souls, a non-profit organization that offers shoes to the needy around the world.
The Sole 4 Souls’ mission statement: to impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes. We are partnering with charities and governments around the world to provide a basic (yet indispensable) gift that most of us take for granted.
At Logan, students and staff are urged to participate in their second period classes by providing either new or slightly worn shoes, along with books and toys. The pick up dates were on April 18th and May 2nd. May 2nd was the official final day for this event, but organizers kept collecting shoes until this week.
