Hope Connections continues to uphold their slogan "Giving without Expecting in Return," as they start their 8th annual Winter Drive. The winter drive is an opportunity for the Logan staff and students to aid struggling families within the New Haven Unified School District by donating money, toys, canned foods, and gifts.

Hope connections wishes to contribute to 75 families within the New Haven community. They hope to raise 7,500 dollars which would be used towards purchasing 100$ food certificates for each of the families. Canned food is another item hope connections wishes to accumulate so that they may have enough to fill 3 boxes for each family. They also hope to acquire 234 gifts for the children.

In addition to the food certificates and gifts Hope Connections is hoping to procure wooden stoves for a Navajo family that resides in a reservation with no heat.

At least 37 clubs, classes, and teams are already involved. Some of the major contributors include the district office which has contributed 100 toys and the AP physics department with 30 toys.

Various churches such as the Mission Springs Church, Crosswinds, Shepherds Care Ministry have also donated over 100 gifts.

If you wish to get involved you should ask you teacher or club or team to adopt a family. Or you can contact Logan teacher Linda Rodriguez. All the items gathered will be delivered on December 22nd 9:00am sharp at the Union City Library.
