The Brave One, a psychological thriller directed by Neil Jordan, will not disappoint audiences.

The story unfolds with Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) and her fiance being mugged while they were strolling around the park one evening. The couple is robbed, beaten, and tossed around like rag dolls; Erica miraculously survived the incident, but her fiance, David Kirmani (Naveen Andrews) was not as fortunate.

The defenseless soon becomes the defender and then the attacker, as Erica is filled with a self-consuming retaliation and assumes the role of an unidentified vigilante in New York City, imposing her own brand of justice.

Although Terrence Howard was his usual brilliant self as Detective Mercer, Jodie Foster was the clear star, commanding every single scene. I'd be surprised if she wasn't nominated for an Oscar, considering the weak crop of actresses in 2007 films.

Although the story line was not unique and very predictable, the climax has a shocking twist and the amazing cinematography provided an experience like no other. A definite must-see film.
